Date Night : Yelp Space Odyssey

In the planetarium

E and I had a date night this last Sunday. My mom watched the littles overnight while we had dinner at Zachary's  and then heaed over to the Yelp Elite event at the Chabot Space and Science Theatre.  I did not snap a bunch of photos because we were having alot of fun . I have lived in the Bay Area my whole life and have never been to this place. Silly right. We attended the Planetarium show which was awesome and then checked out the telescopes. We spotted Jupiter, M-13  ( I think that's what it was I forget now for sure.. a little too much vino complments of Yelp) which is thought to be the oldest cluster of stars which basically ahd something to go with the creation of the universe... but again I am not 100% sure I got all of those details and another cluster of stars, but I really forgete why they are important.

Of course, the tasty nibbles were fabulous.  Edible Explorations (olĂ© mole!), The Sage Table, Otaez (ceviche is a way of life) and Miraku (sushi boat and all) powered us through the evening! Desserts by Sweetface Cupcakes, A Sweet Affair, Local 123 (mmm drip coffee) and Gelateria Naia (whiskey gelato?!) rounded out the nosh.  I loved  the Sweetface cupcakes and the pistachio gelatto the best. It was the yum!

We got home around 11. I  was dead tired the next day but It was so much fun to get out and spend time with my honey and Yelp of course!

PS. I even got a cute little Yelp Elite Lunch Box that I forgot to snap a picture of but will when I get a chance this week. Loved it! Tres Retro .

Date Night : Eddie Papa's

E was headed out of town last week for a competition with his students. He would be gone for 4 days so we turned Wednesday into date night. We had a few errands to run before he left town. After much debate as to where to eat( the never ending battle we have when we dine out) I decided on Eddie Papa's in Pleasanton. What a delight. We will be going back soon. I really loved the saucy-ness of this place. Drinks are served out of jam jars and at the end of your meal you get a little bowl of cotton candy. Very creative, looking forward to our next visit.

We ended the night at Walmart, to pick up some travel essentials for E.

So Cute and Yummy!

Date Night.. my turn to pick! I have been stalking this place on Yelp, Bitersweet Cafe and thats where our night ended but first we went to Faz in Pleasanton. I have never been to this place but wish I had know about it before. We were seated right away despite my attempt to use my open table app for my iphone( it worked but when we got there, we were seated right away!) The food was delish, we had fantastic wine flights, the presentation was tre chic and of course the vino was supremo.I had the pomegranate chicken, e had the swordfish.

After dinner we dashed over to Danville to check out Bittersweet, a chocolate cafe. Oh my G I felt like I died and went to chocolate heaven. I had a classic hot chocolate and a chocolate pecan macroon. There are so many different types of chocolate at Bittersweet, and yummy baked treats, and cafe drinks and did I mention I LOVE IT. It was a sweet way to end the night, but believe I will be back there to visit again.

Date Night Adventures...Weekend Outings

So I am taking a moment to catch up on weekend adventures. We secured our favorite sitter Amanda to come over and chill out with the littles while E and I took some time out for ourselves and had a date night. We headed over to
Sushi Boat in Union City for a quick bite of sushi. We have frequented this place in the past but and enjoyed it, however I think the quality of service has gone a little down hill, in fact its almost low-rent... They really had a way of speeding up your meal to get you in and out. I know Friday night is a busy night but I hate to be rushed at a meal and especially on date night. They have also changed their menu since we had visited last and the jury is still out with us and the changes.

After dinner we headed over to Best Buy to kill sometime and do some research on items we are thinking about getting.. we actually picked up a Wii something I have been wanting for awhile. After Wii shopping we headed over to our new favorite spot Zuckersuss in Hayward. I have Yelped this place recently and need to write them another fabulous review because they and their yogurt rocks!

After the yogurt E and I headed home and played with the Wii until midnight or so was so much fun!

Saturday, the littles and I headed over to Emeryville for a Red Egg and Ginger party for baby BW. We had a fantastic time. I was hoping to stay longer but when flying solo with littles its better to head out when your ahead of the game before the inevitable meltdown. Saturday night we chilled at home and I prepared for my morning of massage sessions on Sunday.

Sunday, was out the door and at the massage studio by 7:30 am . I had 3 clients all moms from the CVMC. 1 hot rock session , 2 swedish sessions. It was quick and painless had a little gab session and was home in 3 hours.

Favorite Indian in Hayward deliver. WE LOOOVE Favorite Indian and recommend it to everyone we know that likes Indian food.

on the dinner menu... tandoori chicken, garlic naan, lamb vindaloo and samosas with rice... YUMMY

I Heart Valentines Day

Like the title of this post I HEART valentines day! My sister was a champ and a half for volunteering herself as the splendid babysitter we have been needing. We decided to have a low key day nothing spectacular but something fun we have not been able to do in a while...we went to the movies. We saw " He's just not that into you" I loved it. It was kinda on the long side but a total chick flick. I did get a little misty a few times and E even thought it was good. After the movies we headed over to Pasta Pomodoro for an early supper. I had the penne potobello and I had some over pasta dish. I really like Pasta Pomodoro. the atmosphere is super cute for a chain restaurant and the food and service are good. We did not get he usual soup /salad that we usually get with our meal not sure if they changed the menu or if the server had an off day but it was still good. We had two more stops on v day . First up we headed to Zuckerfuss in downtown Hayward for a frozen yogurt treat. I have been wanting to try it for a while now and was so glad that we finally had an opportunity. The FRO-Yo spot is very delightful, a perfect spot to sit and people watch too.. Its a self serve type spot that has a lot of different toppings to choose from. I really love the pink walls , white furniture and swanky music they were playing. This place feels like a total hang out. We will defiantly be back. I love that their spoons and bowls are made from compostable materials. This place is trendy and Green. LOVE IT.

So here is a snap of my frozen yogurt creation. I had the regular frozen yogurt, a splash of fudge sause. cookie dough bits, cap'n crunch cereal chocolate chips , mangos and coconut flkes. ...OMG I am reading this back as aI type and I feel like a total FRO-Yo pig. But it was good and of course I had a small serving.

Last stop of the day was PW market for some cupcakes for dessert. I ahve been wanting a cupcake for a day or so and i love the PW choices, although this particular red velvet cupcake I picked I could have passed on.
