Bento Box Bonanza

Picture 324

So for months now I have been reading a cute little blog, actually to be quite honest I have a tiny blog crush on a few of the blogs I read daily Wendy's Blog is one of them. She creates these fantastic little bento boxes for her son  that I adore and have been wanting to do for the little for awhile now.  I headed over to Daiso and picked up some cute little supplies to get me started.

Yikes lots of stuff goes into proper fun bento making? I should have know. I stuck  my supplies in a clear shoebox I picked up at here. A secret weapon I use to stay organized at home I got an awesome deal for 30 of these hot little puppies so I have plenty to use around the house. For now I am storing on top of microwave for easy  prep access... some of these little items will be used to jazz up all of the littles meals. Yes, a little more work but alot more fun and thats what it's all about at their age in my opinion.

A Week of Etsy Shopping

Believe it or not I am not a crafty person. I can not sew a stitch, paint a pic or anything even remotely close. However, I excel in shopping! The day I discovered Etsy was a fabulous day. It's an online market where you can buy and sell all things that are handmade. Love it! An old daycare kids mom turned me on to the site and I frequent it often for special gifts, or just everyday indulgences that I adore. Last week I made 3 purchases and they finally arrived.

I picked up a really cute scrabble piece ring

Cute, no? kinda goes with my purse in the background.

I also picked up two aprons. One shown and one I got for massage purposes and I will blog about later. It kinda goes with my business cards and website and it was a steal @ $8 so I could not pass it up, the chances of me finding another that would match my logo so closely are slim to none.

My most favorite purchase off of Etsy this week was my flowered apron.
I got the Emma's practical pocket apron from here a very cute shop are very affordable prices.

very cute, bright vibrant colors love it!

When my flowered apron arrived from My Mom Would BE Proud it came wrapped up and came with a recipe card handwritten out. The recipe was for chocolate chip cake. It really had that special touch of extra that you never find anymore another great reason to shop Etsy. People on there take so much pride in their work and the time and love that goes into the projects you purchase really shows.

And since I logged into my Etsy account to get the name of the store for the flowered apron here is a pic of my craft/ massage apron

The flowers and colors are pretty close to my massage logo so it was a had to have.

A Dash of Spring

A cute idea to add a little bit of Easter color with out blowing the bank. Take a cutsie glass bowl and fill it with colorful plastic eggs. I used this as a center piece for the dining room ( my kitchen, lol)table. The eggs will be used later to add to the littles baskets later this week. The Littles were very excited to see the littles orbs of color on the table and it took them not time to get into the eggs and play.

I have been so busy that I have neglected my blog this week. I have a few adventures to write about. Spud box, gathering raw materials for easter baskets, a fabulous night in the city with my dear friend Carlos and of course date night and new discoveries. More to come later today and tomorrow!

Blooms Potted

picture 086

I potted the blooms we picked up at Evergreen Nursery on Sunday. Not the best shot but I realized that more work needs to be done to the porch more pots and a better welcome mat. Stay tuned fro more Project Fabu-Nest.

Rainy Day Blooms

I adore flowers, I prefer to be given some by my love E, but he is slacking in the romance department these days and with all the wet weather I needed a pick me up. I picked up these blooms at Trader Joe's. When I got home I chopped them to size built them into the vase with pebbles to secure them and then stacked orange slices around the vase (on the inside) to add a dash more color and scent to the room. I love the way citrus fruit looks sliced up and added to flower arrangements.

I decided as I was admiring my flowers tonight... I much rather have fresh flowers in a couple of rooms in the house than Starbucks coffee during the week. Starbucks, is expensive and it's a quick treat, but flowers they are beautiful and can keep a smile on your face all week long. Less Buckys more Blooms.
